We will use three main textbooks for the course all of which are freely available online. You will not be expected to purchase paper copies.

Modern Data Science with R by Benjamin S. Baumer, Daniel T. Kaplan, and Nicholas J. Horton.
R for Data Science by Hadley Wickham, Mine Cetinkaya-Rundel, and Garrett Grolemund
Programming Tools
R and RStudio We will use the R language which is a popular programming language used by statisticians and data scientists. We will use RStudio interface while using the R language.
Git and GitHub We will use GitHub for version control with git. We will soon learn what version control means.
Other Software
We will use an online forum where you can ask and answer questions. Please read guidelines for the online forum. I will also make announcements using this forum. It is your responsibility to check the forum on a regular basis thus make sure to have appropriate notifications turned on.
We will use Gradescope for some of the assignments. You will get instructions on how to use Gradescope.
We will use Poll EV for conducting in-class quizzes.
We will use Canvas for keeping track of grades.
